Abstract :
The High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) aims to provide significantly improved compression performance in comparison with the previous video standards. The deblocking filter performs detection of the artifacts at the coded block boundaries and attenuates them by applying a selected filter. In this paper, we proposed a novel and efficient deblocking filter algorithm baed on the improved boundary decision method. Prediction unit or transform unit boundaries can be selected to filter all boundaries of 8×8 block according to the Depth, TransformIdx and PartitionSize information from all 8×8 block. Experiment results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve significant coding efficiency improvements and better parallel processing capabilities with the same performance and bit-rate compared with the DF algorithm in HM.
