Abstract :
The rapid growth of mobile Internet, mobile devices, and wireless techniques has created a mature environment to allow people to deal with many things by mobile devices at anytime and anywhere. However, the mobile devices have two inherent drawbacks which are limited screen sizes and hard-to-use keyboards. In this study, a predictive text entry method is proposed, namely, K-lines predictive text entry based on the K-line theory that is related to human memory mechanism to provide a more convenient and efficient text entry method for users. The experiment results indicated the K-lines predictive text entry would have great usability and performance for Chinese text entry.
