Abstract :
This paper presents robust decentralized load frequency control of multi-area power system. Due to the presence of uncertainties in power plants, modulus margin as an illustrative example of performance limitations is used to satisfy both the robust performance and the system stability. Linear matrix inequality (LMI) as a powerful mathematical tool is used to design the needed control strategies. For evaluation of the efficiency of the proposed method a practical four-area power system is simulated. Moreover, the performance of the proposed controllers are analyzed and compared with H controller.
