Abstract :
The Rice flat fading channel is an appropriate model for a significant number of current communication channels, especially in mobile radio propagation environment. This paper aims to evaluate the performance of the different families of turbo codes (TC) in the Rice channel. We took into account single-binary turbo codes (SBTC), double-binary turbo codes (DBTC) and the new family of turbo codes: multi-non-binary turbo codes (MNBTC). We used the maximum logarithmic MAP (Max-Log-MAP) decoding algorithm. The TC´s performance was evaluated for different values of the ratio of power of line-of-sight component to the power of multipath component.
