Abstract :
With the ubiquity and rapidly expanding functionality of mobile technologies, educational institutions have the potential to improve and facilitate learning. More and more educators are employing communication, collaboration and sharing tools and resources to make learning more accessible, equitable, personalized and flexible for students everywhere. The study, investigates the utilization of mobile phones for MIS-151 (Business Software Applications) a required undergraduate course at the University of Nicosia, in a Cloud-based (Google´s Cloud Applications for education), Student-Centered Learning environment. The aim of this combination is to promote the development of a virtual collaborative environment where students are encouraged to leverage the technology they use in their daily lives and become responsible for their own learning. To address the above, the study employed a case study approach, collecting qualitative data through focus groups with students, online/in-class observations and lecturers comments.
