Abstract :
Puskesmas (health centers) is one of the spearheads of health services to the community in Indonesia. Through Puskesmas, government could provide health care and run the program for public health at the same time. But people have problems in accessing information about the existence and health services in Puskesmas. Besides that, the government also have difficulties to monitor the level of service to the community in Puskesmas. In the current condition Puskesmas remains untouched by information technology and communication whereas it could be facilitate community and government in Puskesmas optimization function. This research is about developing first stage of prototype application of information systems based on Web-GIS (Web Geographical Information System) for puskesmas called SIGAPNAS. This application could help communities and governments in search for the location of Puskesmas, availability of health personnel and equipment, as well as the condition of Puskesmas. The prototype is also expected to optimize the role of Puskesmas in improving public health quality. At this stage the Puskesmas area that included are Bandung city, West Java.
