Abstract :
This paper presents a conceptual framework of project developing for the final year of mechatronics students. This is a concept of preparing students with the knowledge, skills, and experience in a design of mechatronics systems on the according basis with the requirements and realities of today´s industry. The project developing of the students was began with the ideological of combining mechanical, electrical, electronics, and embedded programming merge into a single interdisciplinary field. After that, virtual prototyping, this stage is the integration of aided design, programming design, and simulation design to demonstration the functionality of the virtual prototype on a computer environment. Finally, the virtual project which was verified and optimized to be used a physical prototyping. The results of the assessment panel members found that students can develop the project successfully and achieve its objectives through the application of such framework.
