Abstract :
Architecture and implementation for an FPGA-based time measurement unit is presented. The current status of this work - 200ps LSB resolution, less than 1 ns peak-to-peak jitter on a collection of 100 asynchronous measurements utilizing 500 FPGA slices - suggests the possibility of low-cost, parallel, time measurements embedded into existing analog instrumentation.
