Abstract :
Motion is defined as one of the saliencies in our visual fields. Based on this principle, we have developed the motion-based saliency detector as one of the key components in image recognition systems. We propose an algorithm of motion detection based on the quasi-two-dimensional scheme. The algorithm is simple and readily implemented in νMOS-based analog circuits. Through computer simulations, the validly of the algorithm for multiple moving objects detection in a diverse background has been demonstrated. The core of the system has been designed and fabricated in a 0.6 μm CMOS technology and the motion detection has been experimentally demonstrated.
