Abstract :
At present, the research of ECG generally focuses on the identification of abnormal waveforms and analysis of heart rate variability (HRV). By using the method to compute the irregularity index of a signal based on wavelet transform, we successfully extracted the HRV signal and QRS complex irregularity index series from the original ECG signals, and found that the latter possesses a continuous wide-band spectrum. The QRS complex irregularity index series contains abundant information about all parts of the heart and the regulation of the autonomic nervous system, so further analyses are of great potential theoretical and clinical significance to artificial cardiac pacemaker and pathophysiology studies
