Abstract :
Network planning for reconfiguration and failure restoration are management activities that are essential in the highly dynamic tactical environment, to provide communication services to military users when and where they are required. It is therefore conducted in a distributed manner with centralised coordination, in real time. This activity must continue during network partitioning and equipment failure. However, the overheads associated with the provision of high availability during network partitioning and failures and the associated recovery processes, can become excessive in the capacity constrained tactical environment. This paper is concerned with an efficient recovery protocol for distributed network planning information
