Abstract
Top-down design can support complex product system innovation development efficiently. A CAD-CAE integration modeling methodology is put forward based on multi-level assembly model in this paper. In support of skeleton modeling, the multi-level assembly model has four levels, including abstract skeleton level, primitive skeleton level, detail model level and simplified CAE model level, which "translate" the conceptual design abstract models into physical assembly models and simplified CAE analysis models. This multi-level assembly model is applied to innovation design of high-speed train successfully, which is a typical complex product system.
