Abstract
We have investigated radiation of a line source within a hollow cylinder made of left-handed materials (LHMs). We find that the LHMs cylinder functions directivity enhancement of source radiation. However, electromagnetic loss can degrade the enhancement effects. By comparing the effects of electric and magnetic losses, we find that magnetic loss is a main issue and should be minimized in order to get better directivity enhancement effect.
