Abstract
The preliminary design and implementation of a multilevel secure deductive database management system (MLS/DEDBMS) is described. The MLS/DEDBMS is defined as a multilevel secure relational DBMS (MLS/RDBMS) augmented with a deductive manager which is a logic programming system for a multilevel environment. Logic as a data model for multilevel databases, reasoning across security levels, architectural issues for an MLS/DEDBMS, and a prototype implementation are discussed
