Abstract :
Summary form only given. The plasma current open switch (POS) is the key element of transforming system of EMIR complex. Current breaking of /spl sim/10 MA is proposed on one inductor of the transforming system. Development of the corresponding POS design will be performed at explosive experiments. for development of explosive experiments edition in the development program of megaampere currents breaking technologies investigations on laboratory benches with capacitive storage up to the level of breaking currents of /spl sim/2MA are provided. Information density of such investigations and reliability of the obtained results are increased at numerical simulation support at the experiments. Mathematical problem definition of numerical simulation of POS operation processes in the context of two-temperature MHD with Hall current in two-dimensional geometry is presented in the paper. To describe plasma parameters we used EOS in approximation of average ion and took into account heat transfer both with mechanism of thermal conductivity (electron and ion) and convection transfer with current velocity. Results of numerical simulation of nitrogen POS conductivity stage for real circuit of plasma current source of /spl sim/2 MA with the rise time of /spl sim/1 ms are presented. Effect of different physical processes on POS plasma parameters on conductivity stage is studied. Solution results are compared with the obtained ones in the context of earlier developed quasi-one-dimensional model, which is proposed to be used at POS description at numerical simulation of EMIR complex transforming system operation as a whole. Quantitative comparison with experimental data will be performed during experimental works performance on laboratory benches.
