Abstract :
In this paper, we have obtained simple excess capacitance formula for asymmetric stripline open-end. The average error of the formula is less than 2%. Based on this formula and the field-based equivalent circuit model obtained by the authors before, different asymmetric stripline discontinuities have been studied. Furthermore, a low-pass filter and a branch line coupler are analyzed by using this field-based equivalent circuit. Compared with numerical results, the average errors of S parameters are less than 2%.
