Abstract :
A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a collection of mobile nodes which are able to communicate with each other without relying on predefined infrastructures or central administration. Due to their flexibilities and easy deployment, MANET can be applied in situation where network infrastructures are not available. MANET employs routing to provide connectivity for mobile nodes that are not within direct wireless transmission range. There are different protocols for handling the routing in the mobile environment In this paper, Ad-Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) and Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR), protocol is simulated in various mobile scenarios with different traffic patterns. The protocols are compared with respect to reliability and routing overhead and end to end delay.
