Abstract :
The finite element method is introduced to analyze the transmission characteristics of upswept-ridge waveguide, variations of the cutoff wavelength of the dominant mode and single-mode bandwidth with the ridge dimensions for different values are calculated, field patterns of the dominant mode and the first higher-order TE mode are also illustrated. Numerical results in this article provide an extension to the existing design model of rectangular-ridge waveguides and considered to be helpful in practical applications.
