Abstract :
Benefits provided by higher-order bi-directional Raman pumping schemes in 10 Gbit/s unrepeated WDM transmission systems are experimentally investigated. As confirmed by calculations, the unrepeated system reach enhancement is mainly limited by pump-to-signal RIN transfer induced by higher-order co-pumping.
