  • Abstract
This work has presented some initial results for a reservation mode access mechanism with UMTS parameters. The results are for voice only and it may be anticipated that significant gains may well be achieved with data transmission particularly within a micro-cellular environment. Further work is continuing on this and other reservation mechanisms within the RACE 2084 project
