Abstract :
The authors present a genetic algorithm based approach towards the multiplexer targeted finite state machine encoding for area and power minimization. The approach reduces the number of nodes in the binary decision diagram representation of the finite state machine. The method studies the effect of weightage given to area and power minimization factors and gives the optimal results accordingly.
