Abstract :
Recently, development of original technologies of underwater sensor network for data transmission in underwater environment has been progressed. Since propagation delay is a problem awaiting solution in acoustic communication, the transmission time tends to be increased as network radius increases. Besides, there are difficulties of MAC service, which supports to avoid the collision and maintain reliable transmission condition. When some data are transferred using the wireless medium, energy consumption will increase and data throughput will decrease due to high propagation delay in underwater environment and the characteristic of the medium, which is to be unable to detect any collision. This paper suggests the method which decreases energy consumption and propagation delay caused by channel collision by solving some problems of UWAN-MAC, which occur when the number of nodes increases. Our RP message known wake up time of all nodes will prevent receive-receive collision and transmit-receive collision.
