  • Abstract
In a wireless indoor environment, the signal is known to vary significantly according to various factors, such as multipath propagation, absorption by moving peoples or diffraction by many possible scatterers. A possible mean to improve the reception of a desired signal is to use a phased array as one of the component of the PCS receiver. This paper reports on the experimental investigations being conducted to assess the achievable characteristics for a discrete-element phased array. Based upon a novel algorithm involving a nonlinear feedback loop, the experimental results obtained are presented and discussed in the context of a future implementation for the next generation of PCS system
