Abstract
The noise sources and the characteristics of the low light level (LLL) image are studied, and various existing noise processing techniques are analysed in detail. On the basis of these, a novel real-time adaptive interframe temporal comparison technique is presented. By using this approach, the short-live noise scintillation is reduced significantly, therefore the quality of the LLL image is improved greatly. An analysis and a discussion of the processing results are also given
