Abstract :
Elastic wave propagation along the axis of a piezomagnetic cylinder imperfectly bonded by a piezoelectric layer is studied. The characteristic of the imperfect interface is expressed by the radial and the axial stiffness coefficients. The influences of the electro-magnetic boundary conditions, interface imperfection and geometry of the cylinder on the dispersion relations of elastic wave are discussed in detail. The results show that the electro-magnetic boundary conditions and the axial imperfection have slight effect on the phase velocity of the first mode, but the effect on the second mode is great. The influence of the radial imperfection on the dispersion properties is larger than that of axial imperfection. The ratio of the inner to outer radius of piezoelectric layer can evidently change the dispersion curves. The results obtained in this paper are expected to be useful for characterizing the interfacial property of the magneto-electro-elastic composite structures.
