Abstract :
In this paper, we have considered the problem of traffic grooming in unidirectional SONET/WDM rings to minimize the numbers of SONET add-drop multiplexers (SADM) and hence the overall cost of the network. We have proposed an ILP formulation and an efficient genetic algorithm solution to the problem and compared our results with those found in literature.
