  • Abstract
This paper presents the results from a design study on the feasibility of a speed loop controller employing Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMI) in order to improve the disturbance rejection of Switched Reluctance Motors (SRM). The novel resulting solution benefit from a simple state feedback topology tuned previously for operation at an entire polytopic region of uncertainty and yet has a low computer effort profile allowing the solution to fit most of digital controlled drivers´ platforms. Simulations and experimental results demonstrate the potential of the design. The benefits of the proposed improvement were compared with traditional PID controller dynamic response.
