Abstract
The optimal soft decoder for vector quantization over a CDMA channel is presented. It utilizes a-priori source information and channel characteristics to combat channel noise and multiuser interference. Versions of the optimal decoder with lower complexity are also considered. Simulations demonstrate that the soft decoder outperforms the scheme that uses ML-detection plus table look-up VQ decoding
