  • Abstract
The Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN) is an evolving, service-independent architecture planned for deployment in the 1990s. The major physical and functional elements of AIN are reviewed. A description is also presented of how the architecture may evolve to support increasing functionality for providing new telecommunications services
