Abstract
This paper presents a novel control approach that is based on an output power feedforward applied to a new configuration of a high power factor rectifier with high frequency transformer. This strategy has used an additional loop in the average current mode control and provides a faster output voltage dynamic response than the conventional controllers and simultaneously maintains input power factor near unity. The overshoot and undershoot across output capacitor is significantly reduced during load transients. Experimental results from a 2-kW prototype converter are presented to verify the performance and robustness of this new controller.
