Abstract :
This paper presents a novel circular polarization broadband microstrip antenna: the familiar bowtie shaped patch antenna, which is fed by a proximity-coupled T-shaped microstrip-line. A H-shaped slot is incorporated into the patch of the microstrip patch to realize it miniaturization. The simulation results show that the impedance bandwidth and axial ratio bandwidth is 13% and 3% respectively. An acceptable axial ratio (AR < 2) is obtained in a broad angular range from -90 to 90 degrees from boresight. The optimized radiation pattern is also presented.
