Abstract :
Thyristor computer models typically used with circuit simulators, such as SPICE, are frequently based on equivalent circuits composed of transistors. As a consequence, the model parameters are evaluated in terms of transistor characteristic data and nomenclature. The author has developed computer model concepts based on basic equivalent circuits and electro-thermal analogs, which permit simulation of the switching behaviour of SCR thyristors and their thermal performance in circuits
