Abstract :
Generalization of the pattern equation method (PEM) for averaging the scattering characteristics in a two-dimensional diffraction problem of acoustical waves on the impedance infinitely-long cylinder is obtained. Comparison of the developed algorithm of the PEM with an averaging technique in the T-matrix method is carried out. The calculation results of usual and average scattering patterns and integral scattering cross-sections for various geometries of section of the cylinder are presented.
