Abstract :
Synthetic jet actuators (SJAs) with the piezoelectric (PZT) vibrator in clamped and simply supported edge conditions are investigated. The vibrating characteristics of the PZT vibrator are investigated, and a delay phase of PZT vibrator is put forward. According to the vibrating characters of the PZT vibrator, the LUO-XIA model, a computing model of the SJA is established, in which the delay phase angle, time function, displacement distribution, and supported conditions of PZT vibrator are take into account. Then the synthetic jet flow-field is simulated, and results are compared with experiments. Results show the LUO-XIA model is correct and considerate.
