Abstract :
An improved immune algorithm (IA) is proposed for pattern synthesis of antenna array with arbitrary geometric configuration. Unlike simple IA, the proposed IA uses Gauss mutation and adaptive clonal scale control function to enhance the searching performance. The Gauss mutation enhance the probability of optimal value searching by increasing the diversity of antibodies, while the adaptive control function of clonal scale restricts the rapid expansion of antibody scale caused by Gauss mutation. The array position and excitation amplitude are successfully optimized to obtain low side lobe of both linear and planar arrays. The approach based on IA can be used as an efficient method for pattern synthesis of array.
