Abstract :
AeroMACS has been considered as an efficient aircraft communication scheme for the phase of taxiing. In order to provide an automatic taxiing service, the positioning and navigation of the aircraft should be offered. In this paper, the AeroMACS scheme based on WiMAX is proposed for positioning and navigation. The detailed positioning algorithm is designed with the RMSE about 0.1 m. Moreover, as for mitigating the multipath interference, the magnetic sensors and GPS receiver can be employed to form the integrated positioning and navigation system in some local positions. Then, all the locations in the airport runway, parking apron and hangar can be guaranteed with the required accuracy, so that the automatic taxiing can be carried out.
