Abstract
A new graduate-level course entitled “Carbon Nanoelectronics,” offered in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology uses carbon nanotubes (CNT) and graphene as a platform to teach the fundamental nanoelectronic concepts. CNTs which are rolls of single layer carbon sheets and graphene which is a sheet of carbon atoms are promising materials for a host of applications from transistors and interconnects to sensors and electron guns. Their wide verity of applications, their simple structure, and their true one- or two-dimensional nature make them excellent choices for teaching the science and engineering aspects of nanoelectronics.
