Abstract :
This paper addresses the issues in the cascading of high-speed low voltage differential signals (LVDS) on a PCB, and suggests measures for prevention of noisy reflection. The concept of differential termination, for single as well as multiple LVDS drivers on a cascaded board, has been analyzed in depth and solutions provided. The novel idea of dual drive strength or adjustable buffer output current strength in LVDS drivers, to take care of impedance mismatch in cascaded boards, has been introduced. Board simulation results have been presented and discussed.
