Abstract
The power and control circuits required for the running of a 4 kW switched reluctance motor (SRM) are presented in this paper along with their design, fabrication and testing. Among the various existing configurations, single switch per phase with split DC link configuration is used. The control signal is generated by TMS320LF2407A DSP controller. The whole scheme-along with the IGBT-based power converter, the driver modules, the protection, sensing and interfacing circuits-has been designed, fabricated, tested module-wise and is implemented on a 4 kW, 4 phase, 300 V, 1500 RPM Oulton make SRM.
