Abstract :
The Universal Personal Telecommunications (UPT) service supports personal mobility on conventional networks while CCITT Capability Set 1 (CS-1) is an Intelligent Network (IN) architecture. UPT implementation appears to require many IN capabilities. MPR Teltech has investigated the potential of CS-1 to support UPT and demonstrated a number of UPT features using its CS-1 IN Testbed and Service Creation facilities. This research has identified a number of issues from the service, network and service creation perspectives which may impact both UPT and CS-1. An example network issue is the need to dynamically deploy and manage service profiles at a single destination
