Abstract
The results of an experimental research of polarization signatures of radar signals backscattered by the sea surface with gravitational waves and without wind-induced waves are presented. For solving the problem of modeling backscattering from the sea surface a microfacet model of the polyscale rough surface and a methodology for polarimetric signals modeling are suggested. It is shown that for radar signals backscattered by the sea surface the polarization modulation induced by water surface structure is observed.
