Abstract :
█ We´ve demonstrated the feasibility of associating weather and other factors with low-DFE flights — Relies on appropriate data sources and algorithms █ No surprise that prolonged climb-out is associated with bad weather █ Can weather be factored-in to refine DFE calculation? — Stratification class: {Engine Type, Weight Class, Departure Runway, and Egress Wedge} could also include weather conditions — E.g., Weather Impacted Traffic Index (“WITI”), or weather day-types █ For short-hop flights, perhaps don´t include in DFE calculation — DFE is supposed to measure departure efficiency — Works best for longer-haul flights established at cruise altitude when crossing 175 NM radius █ Alternate efficiency measure may be explored: Departure/Arrival Flow Efficiency (“DAFE”)
