  • Abstract
The KOMOBAR (Decision strategies and communication structures for cooperating machines in agriculture) project aims to optimise logistic processes in the agricultural domain. Furthermore it addresses the specific requirements of the IT-based control of supply chains in rural areas. This paper presents an approach of a software agent based decision support system and its architecture. The innovative character lays on the requirement that the software agents have to be web-based and can be executed on mobile COTS (commercial of-the-shelf) devices such as smartphones and tablet computers. With these devices, mounted on farming machines, the decision of workmen in harvesting processes can be efficiently supported considering their working context.
