Abstract :
Power quality is one of the imperative issues in electrical distribution side. The use of UPQC (Unified Power Quality Conditioner) is widely accepted and implemented as a solution to the power quality problems in utility, industry and commercial applications. This paper presents the comparison of two different configuration of UPQC - the conventional and the transformer less UPQCs. A SRF (Synchronous Reference Frame) based control method is used for reference signal generation in UPQC for series and parallel VSC(voltage source converter). The proposed technique is implemented using MATLAB/Simulink.
