Abstract :
A family of load-side resonant ZVS inverters were studied using a geometric approach. State variable equations for the resonant mode were derived for each topology, and a general equivalent circuit model was developed based on the mathematical relationships. This general equivalent circuit model fully describes the behavior of the resonant mode of all these topologies and resembles the simplified circuit of a parallel resonant converter. A state plane analysis with normalization was then applied to the equivalent circuit model to visualize how each circuit operates and different control approaches for this family of ZVS inverters.
