  • Abstract
    We explore the usefulness of peakedness functionals as an indicator of burstiness. This is done in the context of simple operations on network flows, namely aggregation and thinning, in both random and deterministic implementations. We apply these ideas to the discussion of problems in rate control and job scheduling
