Abstract
In the past, structured light (SL) methods typically relied on global reference frames to index points on the illumination pattern. This has limited their use. We are using perfect maps (PM) codes which can be labeled using local clues alone. A difficulty with PM has been their construction. Previously, we have relied on pseudorandom search techniques to identify suitable candidates. Here we give methods for direct construction of these two dimensional arrays. Specifically, a method is given for the construction of a 3-ary (27,729; 3,3) Perfect Map. In order to achieve some error detection and correction, higher Hamming distance codes are needed. A simple search algorithm is also given for the generation of such maps
