Abstract :
Adaptive beam steering antenna has been develop in this research. The proposed antenna is capable to steer the radiation pattern to phi of 0°, 45°, 135°, 225° and 315° angles and theta of 0°, 13°, 15°, 10° and 12°. This could be achieved with the suitable design antenna based on the patch yagi-uda antenna concept with a single radiator and four parasitic elements. Such four elements is control by the activation of four pin diode RF switches that enable the parasitic to perform as director or reflector. However, the shorting pin location from each element to the ground plane is really crucial. This paper has emphasis more on the antenna performance through Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI). The RSSI is measured with five Line of Sight (LOS) distances of 0 m, 5 m, 10 m, 15 m and 20 m. Varied power received is analyzed based on each pin diode RF switch conditions to enable the beam steering ability.
