Abstract :
The landscape of scholarly communication is constantly shifting. Library workers and researchers are always challenged to find useful and reliable sources of information to enrich collections and access to them by future scholars. Here citation analysis is applied to reference citations in two highly reputed journals in the area of planning and development to determine how scholarly research is being affected by new media and accessibility. References from these journals are captured, classified and examined to see if trends in citation are developing that might affect our students and our scholars and in what ways this will occur.
