Abstract
For the past 5 years, the National Library Board (NLB) has worked relentlessly to improve the search and find capability of its services, especially in the discovery of digital content. The pervasiveness of the Internet and the increasing use of mobile devices bring about a new demand for 24×7 access to library resources. This has given the NLB an impetus to digitise more materials and make them accessible to the general public through Internet search engines. With the National Archives of Singapore joining the NLB from 1 November 2012, the amount of resources on and about Singapore increased significantly, and greater efforts have been put into digitising these materials and improving the search and find function of the NLB´s search service. This paper describes the efforts made by the NLB over the past few years, and looks ahead at what else is possible with the new technologies available.
